Service First Mortgage is currently hiring for a Communications Specialist.


The Communications Specialist is a MarCom professional who assists in the development of communication strategies and plans that advance the business goals of Service First.   Duties include:

  • Assist in the coordination and development of internal and/or external communication content, materials and events, including newsletters, press releases, and internet/intranet pages.
  • Create overall communication plans, key messaging and content, provide writing, editing and execution support, measure success and report on insights, as part of developing communication strategies.
  • Create compelling content and communication strategies for various projects and company initiatives.
  • Partner within the company to provide consistency of voice and visual design for all materials.
  • Support marketing and branding efforts via a communications strategy that engages the intended audience.
  • Provide innovative internal communications strategies, programs and activities; identify and apply new technology and tools meaningfully across the organization.
  • Utilize communication expertise for projects across web, mobile, social, search and content publishing and management, as well as other mediums.
  • Develop web content as needed.
  • Create and manage communications toolkits, including messaging and data points.
  • Assist in providing communication consultation as needed to various leaders and departments.
  • Assist in content placement via digital and social media advertisements.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a communications or public relations role; mortgage experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to provide a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and expertise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Mortgage, Real Estate, or Title industries preferred but not required.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and present effectively with various audiences.
  • Understanding of best practices in content creation on platforms such as social media, blogs and other digital marketing avenues, and the ability to translate best practices to implementation.
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
  • Motivated self-starter who can work and learn quickly, while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with accuracy and speed, and the ability to work against aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to proofread and edit various forms of content while adhering to company tone and style guides.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret documents, news and information from a range of internal and external sources.
  • Experience generating email campaign content and intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, MailChimp and other graphic software is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity working within websites and CRM’s.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
