Service First Mortgage is currently hiring for a Junior Underwriter.


The Junior Underwriter I will clear conditions on Approved loan files within the service level agreement turn time, complete all data input and system work as required and communicate appropriately to the field as described in the Underwriting Process Manual.  This individual will complete any revisions for loans suspended in closing or in Loan Delivery, participate in all prescribed trainings and webinars, order mortgage insurance for loans requiring mortgage insurance in accordance with MI company guidelines, and other tasks that may be assigned by the Underwriting Manager or Team Lead. 


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of the mortgage lending process a plus


  • Must have strong reasoning ability and logical thinking skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter able to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work well and deliver quality results in a fast paced environment with strict timelines
  • Customer service orientation
  • Proficient with personal computers and common business software
