    Responsibilities

    The Regulatory Review Auditor works to ensure mortgage origination and fulfillment compliance with state and federal requirements, agency and investor regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. 

     

    Duties include:

    • Assist in managing the Compliance Ticket Inbox to provide regulatory guidance to origination staff
    • Review advertising/social media requests to ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies
    • Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure
    • Conduct Social Media and website reviews of all licensed staff, terminated staff and active branches
    • Import data from the Loan Origination System to Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA)/Fair Lending Testing and Reporting software
    • Test accuracy and validity of HMDA against source documentation to ensure accurate filing of annual Loan Application Register (LAR)
    • Conduct ongoing testing of HMDA data integrity
    • Conduct quarterly Fair Lending Review tests with reportable data for presentation to the Compliance Committee
    • Complete daily reports as assigned
    • Assist in setting up new branches and Underwriters in FHA Connection
    • Assist in completion of disposition of non-funded loans and low FICO leads ensuring compliance with applicable regulations

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • Previous compliance experience
    • Basic knowledge of mortgage loan documents and the mortgage origination lifecycle and functions, along with an exceptional understanding of regulatory requirements
    • Understanding of current agency and underwriting guidelines
    • 5+ years of compliance/regulatory experience or Bachelor’s degree is preferred

    • Proven ability to research and make sound judgments/recommendations based on the research
    • Proficient in data entry with general computer skills and a knowledge of MS Office software
